In 2002, the National 863 Plan listed the technology related to wood manufacturing for science and technology as a special topic for research: In 2003, the Ministry of Science and Technology intended to include it in national key new product projects. This is the only project in the wood processing industry that has won this honor. This highlights the country’s concern and support for the development of science and technology wood. In 2004, the national forestry department formulated the national industry standard for science and technology wood, and this work was completed at the Weide Group's Suzhou production base. At present, the science and technology wood produced by the Weide Group accounts for more than 60% of the world's total production. The new technology wood products introduced by the Vide Group account for more than 80% of the global total.
